A hundred thousand welcomes
Popular with people of all ages, this event has been held annually since 1937, making it the oldest Highland Games in Ontario.
Thrill to the music of pipe bands from across Ontario. Be entertained by Highland dancers from Canada and the U.S., who are often joined by those from Scotland and other countries.
Share the excitement of Canada’s largest tug-of-war event at the Embro Highland Games. This annual competion commemorates the Zorra team that won the world tug-of-war championship at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.
Watch the caber toss and other Scottish athletic events, or the runners’ road races. Check out the wares of various Scottish vendors. Visit the Clan displays. Enjoy food ranging from cotton candy to a full dinner.
You might also take time to explore some back roads leading you through the impressive rolling countryside of the “Zorra Highlands” just north of Embro.
It means a fun day for the whole family, served up in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
